The Hill Squad

Jack Klein is a renowned physicist with strong ties to the biology community. After graduating from Stanford University in 1991, Klein began his career working with arms developers, carrying on the Klein legacy of protecting American freedom through war. Son of the esteemed biomedical engineer Jack Klein Sr., Jack Jr. felt that it was his duty to continue his father’s work in a new era of war. Though his main studies are in physics, Klein is also highly educated in technological development and has been working with developer Orion Blackwood to create new technology to be used by both the Hill Squad and the Hill Academy.

A second-generation marksman, Bailey spent her childhood hunting and training with her father. She joined the military immediately after she graduated high school in 1997, and became a sniper in 1999. Crew Lanham, originally a firefighter for the FDNY, dedicated his life to structural engineering and crisis response after September 11, 2001. He joined the FDNY out of high school in 2000 and, in 2002, began his undergraduate studies in engineering at Boston University. He self-studied crisis response and followed major crises in his area, leading to his presence at the Hill incident in November of 2002. The methods developed by Agent Lanham for immediate response and prevention of emergencies have saved thousands of American lives and continue to be used today.

Lehmann is a born chemist. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware in 1994, then her PhD at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1996. Blue Carter was caught on the darknet in its early stages in 2000. He was caught in an attempt to access a secured government website. Instead of prosecuting him, his arresting officer turned him over to the FBI, where he was offered the opportunity to attend Harvard University in return for working for the government upon his graduation. In 2002, Jack Klein requested Carter for a classified project, leading to his presence at the Hill incident. Nonetheless, he finished his degree in 2004 and was allowed to continue the work for the official Hill Squad.

Brooks graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1990 and was hired by the Mayo Clinic in 1996. She caught the attention of Jack Klein for her work during the attack on the clinic in 2000 and was the on-site doctor during the Hill incident in 2002. Halley proved over and over again that she was the best doctor to have around in an emergency, and she quickly picked up the skills she needed not only to survive in the field but to be a valuable asset. During the 2019 invasion of Washington D.C., Halley sustained several injuries which cost her her life. Her life and service are remembered with much gratitude and sadness by her fellow Squad members, her two sons Carson and Blue Brooks, and her husband Don Brooks.

Oliver Makar was accepted into the Air Force Academy in 1995, graduating in 1999. As a Second Lieutenant in the Air Force, Makar earned several medals and awards from the US government. In 2002 he was commissioned to fly a new jet designed by Jack Klein and Orion Blackwood, and, in the span of three days, he took out 50 enemy jets. On November 23, 2002, Oliver received a distress call from Klein. His quick action saved every member of the soon-to-be Hill Squad. During the 2019 invasion of Washington D.C., Oliver’s communications system went dead, and it is thought that Oliver lost his life in an attempt to lure enemy assailants into the Atlantic Ocean. His life and service are remembered with much gratitude and sadness by his fellow Squad members and his twin sister Alyssa.

Ashton Bell was initiated into the Hill Squad during the 2019 attack on Washington D.C. Despite his lack of experience then, he acted instinctually to destroy four enemy weapons.

After the events in D.C. in 2019, the Hill Squad became an independent entity. As of today, Hill Squad branches exist in 108 countries. International agents work to protect the people in their nation and the world.
